You, my fellow salvage junkies, never cease to amaze me with your creativity. Take Leslie Geesaman, whose window-turned-picture-frame is shown below.

Pained at the thought of a charming wood double-hung ending up in a landfill, Leslie’s contractor husband lugged the window home from a job site. And in true TOH fashion, Leslie put it to good reuse. Her idea: Mount photos behind the wavy-glass divided lights and hang the sashes side by side on the wall.

My sister-in-law is planning on doing this for her stairway and I can’t wait to see it! You can find these old windows in antique shops or flea markets at very reasonable prices. If you are in the Twin Cities area, email me and I will give you the name of a couple shops I know that sell them!

Come and see my newly furnished studio. I had so much fun decorating it and would love for you to stop in! Contact me for more info!

My posts have been so tech-y lately I thought I’d lighten things up with my Top 5 can’t-live-without-absolutely-need-to-function products.

5. Sprayway Glass Cleaner: Why glass cleaner you may ask? I have a glass top dining table and 2 kids. ‘Nuff said. And I like this brand better than the other ones because it’s not as streaky and it smells better too.

4. Aveda products: I’ll admit it–I’m an Aveda product junkie. Love the smell…love the products.

3. My Computer: I upgraded to a much faster computer and I’m telling you, I could never go back. How did I ever survive without it? Loading sessions took forever…the very thought of it makes my blood pressure rise. (and check out the website pictured here, you should really go to this site and book a session)

2. Pepsi Max: This could quite possibly be the yummiest diet soda ever. I actually look forward to cracking one open every day.

1. And finally, the #1 product I could not live without: the Dyson Vacuum! I’m telling you this thing is amazing. I’ve had it for over 3 years and it still works! The belt has never broke either. Their customer service is outstanding too.

But best of all, it picks up all those little wiry hairs my dog leaves behind. Which leads me to another one of my favorite things…

But wait, I’ve run out of numbers! Oh well, hope you have enjoyed this post. And be sure to leave a comment below with some of YOUR favorite products!
